Company
Shorten the kill chain.
Aurelius Systems develops autonomous laser defense designed to scale across military and civilian infrastructure applications worldwide. The company and its flagship product, Archimedes, were born out of the urgent need to defend against Group 1 and Group 2 drones made evident by the war in Ukraine. Archimedes is an autonomous directed-energy counter-UAS system that combines AI sensing and robotics, designed to shorten the time between detection and engagement and reduce engagement costs. Headquartered in San Francisco, Aurelius also has an office in Detroit.

Led by its co-founders.
Co-founder and CEO Michael LaFramboise and co-founder and CTO John Marmaduke lead a growing team spanning technology, defense, and finance.

The people make the system.
Software, optics, mechanical and electrical engineering, test, manufacturing, operations, and business teams contribute to the same work. Each discipline carries responsibility for how its decisions affect the complete system.
Ownership means following a problem through iteration and evidence. Collaboration means bringing the right disciplines into the decision early.

Engineering, evidence, production.
Archimedes is our flagship product. New capabilities earn their place through development, testing, and a clear application.
- Development defines the system.
- Testing exposes what works and what needs to change.
- Modular interoperability connects the system with existing platforms and command environments.
- Production and support determine how it is delivered and maintained.
Milestones, on the record.
Demonstrations, command-and-control integration, partnerships, financing, leadership appointments, and manufacturing developments are published in the Aurelius newsroom.
